Mark LaVoy: It's Wellness Wednesday brought to you by HCA Midwest Health. A lot of people are worried about catching coronavirus, but that's never an excuse to avoid going to see the doctor, especially when your heart health is at risk. Dr. George Pierson is a cardiologist with HCA, Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Dr. George Pierson: The reason that we are so concerned is that we're having people die at home, that we could render care to if they would come in and get taken care of. Mark LaVoy: Dr. Pearson says," All of HCA facilities are taking thorough precautions to protect patients from COVID-19." Dr. George Pierson: So we have safe corridors, we have safe places for our patients. And I would urge our patients, if you're having chest pain, if you're having any signs of a stroke, please seek medical care. Mark LaVoy: Anyone who shows up at the ER is screened for temperature, high risk and low risk patients are kept in separate clean areas. HCA Midwest health is dedicated to improving healthcare in the greater Kansas City and outlying areas. I'm Mark LaVoy.
